This Friday is turning into some sort of sock-o-rama as I’ve realized just how many half-finished socks I got lying around (the others – the not-even-half-finished won’t get further mention right now). So now I’ll present them and hopefully they’ll all be finished during the weekend on Bornholm, where I and the three musketeers will spend the time knitting and chatting and enjoying ourselves.
Top left: Inlaid Squareness no. 1. I’m having a riot with these socks, as they are absolutely top-fun to knit. There just is something about having to sew the cuff together that gets me. The fit is good (the seam does not bother at all, which I was a tad concerned about) and they will be gorgeous. No. 2 is on the needles, so there is hope of completion, which is good as I knit these as my participation in Sock-down January on Ravelry – so they need to be finished.
Middle right: London Man no. 1. It was started in the airport on the way to London (I managed to get metal DPNs through the security) and it has – among other things – amused me while queing to get tickets to the special exhibition on British Museum (there is something cool about a museum having sold out, so you have to que for the tickets released on the day). They are for a good friend, an older gentleman, so I have tried to combine the manly “boring” with something that would keep me from wanting to commit suicide with the DPNs. I think I’ve done it, and future socks for men with large (very) feet will probably be the same model. No. 2 is more than half-way, so there is hope.
Bottom left: Spirals no. 1. In the beginning I wanted to submit these to Knitty.com, but because of many things I think I’ll just publish them here on my own site. They are absolutely gorgeous to wear and much, much easier to knit than they look (they are very simple). For some reason I haven’t been able to finish the last sock, and all I’m lacking is the toe!
Jep, det er min fod, der modellerer alle sokkerne, og lad være med at spørge hvordan jeg tog de billeder… jeg har stadig ondt pga. akrobatikken. Hav en rigtig god weekend.
It is my foot modelling all the socks, but please don’t ask how I took the pictures… I’m still hurting because of the acrobatics. Have a really nice weekend.
