12800 of 100800 stitches of loveI have previously knitted sweaters for the Mate, two to be exact, and though he loves them both, they don’t see a lot of wear. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, they were knitted with worsted weight wool and the Mate is a warmblooded creature (i.e. it doesn’t take much for him to feel too hot), and secondly, the Mate has a job where thinner more “official” looking pullovers are more common (and accepted) on top of the shirt.

So I’ve decided that it’s time for me to knit another sweater, one that fullfills the wished for criteria for a everyday garment… the thing is that this means cotton/linen and very very small needles. Needles so tiny that they normally are reserved for sock knitting. I have made a quick calculation and have come up with about 100 000 stitches… on 2 and 2½mm needles… I guess, it’s a good thing that I love him so much!
