I haven’t had much time or energy for creative purposes lately, but even so I’ve managed a couple of hours by the sewing machine during the last few weeks. I have finished the top for my ‘Stars in the scrap’ blanket, and I am very well pleased with how it has turned out. It feels rather wonderful to see that my idea also works in reality

I chose to put a border on this top, something I haven’t done before. This time I believe it was a perfect choice since the grey border draws out the stars from the chaos of the scraps. I’ve got both backing and batting and fabric for the edge ready, but once again (again) I lack a sewing machine that is able to tackle a quilt sandwich of these dimensions. Luckily, one of my friends have offered to let me test drive her Bernina to see if I would like to but it. I think quilting this baby would be the perfect test, right?
