Finally, I’m back in the blog posting seat. This spring and summer has been very busy for us, but with a really wonderful and long (and almost internet free) summer vacation, I’ve got a couple of good blog posts in stash for the coming weeks. This year our summer vacation was spent in Nuuk, Greenland, where the Mate, MM, LB and I visited my mother, who lives there. It was an absolutely wonderful vacation, and almost like being in a luxury cabin with the extra advantage of being with family. The house has a great view of the mountains and the fjord, where the humpback whales flocked. We say tails almost every day, and two of the days we saw a whale breach… magnificent! A little selection of pictures below gives a feel of our vacation.

The colonial habour (Kolonihavnen) in the light after sunset (almost at midnigth)

The family has lunch on the top of Lille Malene (Little Malene), 432 m

I'll never get tired of watching the whales

mountain poppy

Gulls flying over the fjord - on one of our boat trips

Hjortetakken (Antler point) in the red light of 11.45 pm

Sermitsiaq waterfall

there were ravens everywhere - I think, it's a beautiful bird

The Circus Lake (circussøen) in glorious weather

Sometimes we spotted a adult and a calf swimming together

I hope you aren’t overwhelmed by the picture spamming, but I had a hard time limiting myself. Now I’m looking forward to reading all the posts waiting for me in blogland.
