Sommerferien er i fuld sving her i familien.

Summer vacationing is going strong here in the family. MM and the Mate has had holiday for 1 and 2 weeks and I’ve finally joined the illustrious band of vacationists and have had a couple of days off so far and have the pleasure of being able to look forward to almost two weeks futher relaxation. Even though the new work is good, it is also a wonderful feeling to be able to relax and do absolutely nothing without any feeling of guilt.

I dug out the project box (a big, clear plastic box in which all my wips recide from time to time) and had a good look through them all. I have now upgrade two of the older wips to the priority summer vacation projeccts. Perhaps, with a bit of zeal and luck, I might be able to have them finished before the humdrum of everyday life begins again? Certainly it is almost like a little summer love fling to find a long neglected treasured project and enjoy some time with it again.

The first archeological find is a pullover I’m knitting for the Mate. I started the project back in April 2009 (thank you, Ravelry, for your wonderful documentary skills, i.e. remembering starting dates), so it’s about time it gets done. It’s knitted on 2 and 2½mm needles in a cotton/flax mixture, which in part explains the slow progress, but it also makes it an excellent summer time project.

The second project is of newer origins. It is yet another transition-stash-buster-shawl for a very good friend, who would like to have something warm to cuddle in when winter hits again. It is always fun to see how the colours play together, once they are being knit, and I’m pretty sure that it will be finished in good time for the next winter.
