Årets Tour de Fleece sluttede i søndags sammen med “de France” versionen, men jeg krydsede først min personlige målstreg mandag aften, da jeg tvandt det sidste garn i min Tour. Det har været en overraskende produktiv Tour i år. Det er lykkedes mig at spinde lidt (eller meget) de fleste dage, og det kan ses på resultatet. At jeg så stadig har en god portion uld liggende er en helt anden ting, men i det mindste er fiberlageret blevet reduceret noget.

Tour de Fleece 2012 ended last Sunday alongside the “de France” version, but I didn’t cross my personal finish line before Monday evening, when I plied and wound the last yarn of my Tour. It has been a surprisingly productive Tour this year. I’ve managed to spin a little (or a lot) most days, which resulted in a pretty pile of yarn. That I still have a good portion of wool lying about is a subject for another day, but at least the fibre stash has been reduced somewhat.

Jeg har spundet 4 forskellige garner i løbet af Touren. Øverst til højre er det tretrådede corriedale/lincoln garn fra denne blogpost, som jeg spandt det meste af tilbage i Tour de Fleece 2010. Nederst til højre, er fem toner gråt Finnwool garn, som jeg også har vist tidligere. Øverst til venstre er et lækkert og blødt garn, der består af en tråd blue faced leichester i en mørk brun og en tråd blå merino/alpaca blanding, der blev tvundet sammen. Det sidste garn er det orange/brune nederst til venstre. Det er rambouillet, hvilket var første gang jeg spandt den type uld. En dejlig oplevelse og garnet er blødt og “elastisk”. I alt har jeg spundet og tvundet 698 g fibre og fået 1647 m dejligt garn ud af det. Nu skal jeg så bare finde ud af, hvad jeg skal strikke af sagerne.

I’ve spun 4 different yarns during the Tour. To the top right is the 3-ply corriedale/lincoln yarn from this blog post, which I mostly spun the singles for during the Tour de Fleece in 2010. On the bottom right are the five shades of grey Finnwool yarn, which also has been featured on the blog. On the top to the left is a very soft and wonderful 2-ply yarn, which consists of one single of blue faced leichester in a dark brown and one single blue merino/alpaca mix, which where then plied together. The last yarn is the orange/brown on the bottom left. It is rambouillet wool, which was my first experience with this breed. A wonderful experience it was, and the yarn is soft and bouncy/springy. The final tally is that I’ve spun and plied 698 g of fibre into 1647 m of yarn. Now the challenge has become to find out what to knit of the goodies.
