Though the blog has been silent, the design proces has still been going on, and I’ve recently completed a new design for Englegarn using their absolutely wonderful merino yarn. It is a baby blanket inspired by patch work and the ofte used “Nordic” star. The blanket measures approximately 3 feet on each side.

It is a good design for me in many ways, as I really needed a succes at that time, and that was what I was given. Sometimes I can get really stuck in a design proces, and either abandon the project or really have to fight it. But this time everything was wonderful (ok, not the deadline – but I guess you can’t have everything), and the blanket ended up being just as I had hoped when I drew those first sketches on my paper – how often do that happen?

The blanket is knit as individual pieces, which are then sewn together. It’s a lot like my Six’es blanket. It’s pure potato chip knitting – you just want to knit one more patch. I really liked how it looked, as I blocked the small patches before sewing them together, so I included that picture as well. As far as I can see, it isn’t yet up on Englegarn’s homepage, but I’ll give an update when it is. In the meantime, I’ll be cozy with another design job in the rather addictive yarn.
