Når vi nu er på vej mod efteråret føles det rigtigt at præsentere et par af mine nyere designs. Det er Fagales Huen og Fagales pulsvarmerne. Motivet på både huen og pulsvarmerne minder om bøgeblade med deres fine, skarpe ribber – og selvom det lige nu er lunt i Danmark, er det på tide at strikke til de koldere tider igen.

Fagales er det latinske navn for bøgeordenen. Både bøgen og birken er at finde mange steder i Skandinavien, hvor træerne står tæt med deres fine, ribbede blade. Det smukke mønster på både hue og pulsvarmere leder netop tankerne hen på disse blade. Som et ekstra lille twist er huen fuldt ud vendbar – så du strikker faktisk to huer i en.

As the season turn towards autum, it feels right to present a couple of my new designs. They are the Fagales Hat and Fagales fingerless gloves. The pattern on both these designs turn the thoughts toward the leaves of the beech tree with their fine, sharp ribs – and though the weather may be warm in Denmark right now, it might be a good idea to begin knitting for the colder days ahead.

Fagales is the latin name for an order of flowering plants – among these the beech and the birch trees. Both the beech and the birch are found in many places in Scandinavia, and both trees have beautiful ribbed leaves. The beautiful stitch pattern on the hat leads the thoughts towards the wonderful foliage of these trees. As an extra bonus, the hat is fully reversible – so you actually end up with two hats after knitting just one.
